One of the biggest misconceptions about newborn photography is that your baby has to be less than two weeks old. In reality, the ideal timing depends on the photographer you choose and the style of session you're looking for.
While I find that 5 to 14 days old is often the sweetest time for newborn portraits, it's rarely too late to preserve this season. As a lifestyle newborn photographer, I welcome babies up to 4 weeks old, and sometimes even 6 weeks. Every session is baby-led and thoughtfully adapted to your little one's age, personality, and comfort, creating a relaxed experience for your entire family.

Your baby's first year only happens once. For the moms who do not want to miss a single thing, my first year membership is a thoughtfully planned and designed experience to document your pregnancy, the newborn days, and your baby's early milestones. Parents can reserve multiple photo sessions in advance, at a reduced rate, ensuring their little one's first year is captured with care, and without the stress of last-minute scheduling.

what to know before reserving your Austin Newborn Photography Experience
When should I book my newborn session?
I recommend reaching out in your second trimester to ensure availability. We'll use your due date as a placeholder. Simply let me know when your little one arrives and we'll lock in a date. If your baby is already born, please reach out as soon as possible. I only take a limited number of sessions per month to allow for plenty of flexibility.
do you offer studio newborn sessions?
Yes! While most of my newborn sessions take place in the comfort of my clients' homes, I also offer studio sessions for families who prefer a dedicated studio space. I have a curated list of beautiful, light-filled studios throughout the Austin area that perfectly complement my light and airy style. Studio rentals are booked separately and incur an additional fee, with rates typically starting at $85 per hour.
How much does a newborn session cost in austin?
Newborn session pricing begins at $750. A $300 non-refundable retainer fee is due at the time of booking and will be applied toward your chosen collection.
How do you approach infant safety?
Your baby's comfort and safety is always my number one priority. As a lifestyle newborn photographer, I only perform baby-led, safe poses. Additionally, I have received extensive 1:1 newborn wrapping, posing, and safety training from renowned photographers.
What if my baby cries or refuses to sleep?
There's no need to worry—babies don't have to sleep the entire time to create beautiful photographs. Every newborn session is completely baby-led, with plenty of time built in for feeding, soothing, cuddling, and diaper changes whenever they're needed. My goal is never to rush your baby, but to create a calm, relaxed experience
Do you offer baby albums?
Yes! You will have access to a professional print lab directly from your gallery. Because I would hate for my clients' images to be lost on the cloud, you can choose from multiple custom artwork options including albums and wall art.
