Being in Austin, TX, there is nothing more exciting than finally being able to step outside and take beautiful photos without having to brave the crazy 100+ degree weather. This past weekend, I kicked off busy photographer season with my first Fall mini session, and I got to do so with such a fun and sweet family of four. Big Brother Alfonso (6) and Little Sister Alessandra (3) had so much fun playing and running around in the tall grass at my all-time favorite location for family photos, Brushy Creek Lake Park. This made for so many cute candid shots that mom and dad will get to share with loved ones as their usual yearly family pictures.
Although I always ensure to capture the “picture perfect” smiles with all eyes looking at the camera type of shot that every family wants to walk away with, I LOVE the more natural, authentic shots that truly reflect a family’s love and connection. Let’s be real, who loves to spend an entire photo session trying to perfectly pose and force a smile for 15 minutes?? Not me, and I’m sure neither does Dad nor the kiddos! My philosophy is to provide my clients with images that tell a story, but not a “cookie cutter” story…THEIR story, in all its uniqueness. Mom and dad candidly playing with the kids, throwing them in the air, having the biggest tickle fights that lead to the loudest and sweetest giggles…Those are the moments worth capturing, sitting down and looking back on through the years, or proudly displaying on the walls of your home.
