Welcoming a new baby into the world is one of life’s most incredible moments. A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure to capture Jessika and Nick’s maternity photos (see blog post here). A few weeks later, their baby girl was born! Jessika and Nick welcomed me into their beautiful home in Round Rock, TX to capture Fae Delila’s in-home newborn photos and share the joy of welcoming their newest addition. With big brother Dean by their side, this family of four radiated love, joy, and connection throughout the session.

For the occasion, Jessika chose the cutest matching shirts spelling “Mom”, “Dad”, and “Big Brother”. So much cuteness to capture! I love that lifestyle newborn photos are all about telling the story of your family as it is right now. You get to do it in the most authentic and natural way, right there in the space you call home.

Capturing Fae Delilah’s Timeless Newborn Photos

At just 17 days old, baby Fae Delila was an absolute dream to photograph. She spent the entire session peacefully sleeping, curled up in her parents’ arms or resting quietly beside her big brother. There’s something timeless about capturing these fleeting early days. With her soft, delicate features, and calm presence, Fae made every moment feel even more special.

Jessika and Nick’s home provided the perfect backdrop for this light and airy session. With its soft, natural lighting streaming through the windows, we created images that felt organic and full of life. Dean, full of energy and excitement, brought so much personality to the session, interacting with his baby sister in the sweetest ways. His joy and curiosity as a new big brother were so much fun to capture.

What are Lifestyle Newborn Photos?

One of the reasons I love being an Austin newborn photographer is because these sessions focus on the real, authentic moments that make your family unique. Jessika and Nick’s session is a perfect example of this. Unlike with traditional, in-studio posed newborn photos, we didn’t need fancy backdrops or props to create something beautiful. Their home, their love, and their connection with their children provided all the magic we needed.

In my newborn sessions, I aim to capture the emotions you’ll cherish for years to come. Whether it’s the the tender moments Jessika and Nick spent hugging Fae, or Dean’s playful nature as he interacted with his sister, these moments are as timeless as they are meaningful.

When to Take Newborn Photos?

The best time to schedule your session is in the first 7 to 14 days of your baby’s life. At that age, baby is still pretty sleepy, making it a much more relaxed experience for both baby and the parents. However, if your baby is a bit older, don’t worry! Lifestyle newborn sessions give you additional flexibility as your baby will not be posed.
